Late

The bus was late and it was super cold outside. It’s -3 degrees outside. 6:45 I went outside and turned my car on. Usually we just walk around the corner where the bus usually stops and wait for the children. But it’s winter and it’s cold so I made a point to start my car and just drive around the corner and wait for the bus to come around. Usually the regular bus driver comes on time. If he is absent then the substitute comes late. But today was very late! we were waiting for over 30 minutes. Good thing I drove my car so we didn’t have to wait outside freezing . I decided to drive my kids to their sub school. I stopped at Walgreens to get them something to munch since I didn’t woke up early enough to cook them breakfast and the other drive thru store were on the other side of my house. So anyway, i stopped at Walgreen and the damn thing is not even open and it was already 7:43 in the morning! I can see that lights were on inside probably those people who worked in there; decided to get a little quickie since nobody comes around in the morning anyway! So I turned around kept driving all the way to the boys’ sub school and I stopped at Super Target. The store opens up at 8 and I went inside grabbed them something to eat in the car and some juice. So off to their school and I saw only 1 bus parked. I was so glad that they let the kids inside and not let them wait in line. These are one of my complaints in this school! They let their students wait outside in the cold! I was so glad they let them in . It’s Nebraska and it gets cold but I don’t know why they let kids wait outside. My husband said that his co-worker told him that all the kids in all school in NE are like that. So I went back home and saw I have a message in my answering machine. It was a message from school. They were calling to let the parents know that the buses are running late… They called at 7:13 in the morning. Which is the usual time that the bus leaves in our waiting spot!!! Now why would they call at 7:13, which is the time for the bus to leave in one spot and off to another spot? if they call they should call at 7:00 AM where the kids are still inside the house!!How will the parents know if they called too late? wahh I am so whining because I am freezing!

Aw, kalooy sa mga bata, maayo nalang kay gi drive nimo sila padulong sa school bus waiting area. Nah, don’t worry too much kay basin naa lang jud kakulian ba og maong late na pod nakapahibalo ang school. Basta winter time na gani daghan jud ga ka late sa trabahuan. Maglagot jud kog winter kay di ta basta2x maka gawas without the proper outfit.

@Raquel, wahh di lang jud kay kausa ra sial nalate. permi mana sial malate labi na ang regular driver moabsent. sos ang mga sub no dugay kaayu maabot unya di pa jud manawag. first time pa to nila tawag nag malate pero late na pod sila nanawag. maayu ta ang NE kay ang winter light, di raba jud kung magsnow snow jud naa pay klase gabungtod pa ang snow, slide pa jdu akayu ang dan wahhhhh faeet kaayu amoa maam.
