A 12-YEAR-OLD boy was found by a police team sleeping in a grass field Sunday night, after he was allegedly maltreated by his father.

The boy was reportedly thrown, beaten, and tied to a tree with a chain after his father, in a drunken rage, saw him.

Jojo (real name withheld), of Barangay Napo, Carcar City, was near a field at about 6 p.m. Sunday when his father Benjamin came staggering toward him.

When he saw Jojo, he lifted the boy and slapped him several times.

He put his hands around the boy’s throat and lifted the boy only to hurl him to the ground. This happened several times.

When they got near the house, Benjamin allegedly dragged Jojo to a jackfruit tree.

There, he tied the boy with a chain and bound the boy’s hands and feet with wire.

Neighbors who saw this called up the police station and informed them that a boy was being maltreated.

When Benjamin learned that the police were on their way, he immediately fled.

Since the binds were not very tight, Jojo managed to untie these on his own.

Exhausted after his ordeal, he fell asleep on the field until police found him there.

PO3 Jorami Tanud-tanud said they took Jojo with them to the police station and he narrated what happened to him.

Asked where his mother was, he said she was first to flee out of fear.

His father surrendered to the police station Monday dawn and is now facing a child abuse case.

Tanudtanud said that Jojo’s elder brother had also complained to the police about a similar incident.

The brother no longer lives with the family.
Jojo is now with the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Tanudtanud said that at the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor’s Office, Jojo’s mother seemed to be hesitant about filing the case and began defending her husband.

He said that if she persists in defending Benjamin, they might include her in the case.

It’s the BER time! so probably right now in the Philippines, people are playing Christmas music already!!! i know that when i was younger, When September starts there’s Christmas Music everywhere, in the mall, pharmacies and even restaurants!! I do like living in the Philippines during this time of year, unlike in some other places.. Philippines have actually the Christmas spirit despite of the hardship and crisis.. like this one that I read this in Sunstar online and this is really a big deal in Cebu. The government officials should pay attention to the case.Anyway, i know that recently, they are moving people to that new area in pardo so hopefully the health department will do something about this.And here’s the news

“A STATE of calamity was declared in Barangays Pardo and Bulacao in Cebu City because of the rising number of dengue cases in the area and the recent declaration of a dengue outbreak there.

The Cebu City Council also authorized the use of the calamity funds for the preventive and contingency measures in the area, and for financial assistance to dengue patients in the two barangays.

From Jan. 1 to Sept. 19, the Cebu City Health Department recorded a total of 996 cases of dengue with 24 deaths, or an increase of 77 percent compared to the same period last year.

There were 562 cases in the same period last year with 15 deaths.

The case fatality rate this year, though, is lower at 2.41 percent, which means that two of 100 cases result in death, compared with last year’s three out of every 100 cases.

Dengue cases in the region increased by almost 50 percent this year, compared with last year. “

I needed the laugh, it’s 3:47 AM and i know someone who doesn’t wash her hands and it gross the hell out of me!!! I hate people who don’t wash their hands period! you might say i am picky, therefore, yes I am!! It’s gross when you don’t wash your hands!! I wonder how some people can go through everyday eating , peeing and not washing their hands?? it’s disgusting your spreading germs! ughhh yak yak yak!!!! There should be a law to imprison people who don’t wash their hands!!! just like the law in japan , they put people in prison if your are negligence and caused fire even if unintentionally. For example, you a parent left a matchbox or a lighter where your kids can get it and use it and evidently caused the fire, they will throw your butt in jail for negligence ( oooppss, good thing i wasn’t in Japan when I caused my house on fire huh?)anyway, people who don’t wash their hands should be imprison too by”SPREADING GERMS THAT CAN CAUSE BACTERIA AND THAT CAN CAUSED SERIOUS ILLNESS AND MAY LEAD TO DEATH TO OTHER PEOPLE!!!!” Pls. people wash your grubby hands!
